Purnima is a creative art enthusiast with a strong interest in Art and Design.

This journey began in 1997 where she decided to leave her career in banking in order to pursue her passion.

In 1998 Purnima was awarded the Further and Adult Education teaching In 2004 she qualified as a design florist achieving a Nafas Diploma in Flower arranging and Art & Design. This passion for art then lead her to become a qualified Art teacher with Parchment Craft Australia in 2006 and Pergamano UK in 2008 where she is was awarded the highest level of distinction in this intricate art form which specialised in water colour, coloured pencils and acrylics.

The Nafas Diploma involved drawing, painting and arranging flowers, which sparked her journey in botanical art and illustration.

With 20 years experience as a teacher, Purnima currently teaches a variety of watercolour art classes in local Adult Education colleges in Coventry, UK . The courses are tailored to suit both beginners and advanced learners covering a variety of subjects such as: birds and wildlife, landscapes, buildings and botanical art.

Purnima has extensive experience in a wide range of mediums and subject matters, she is an encouraging tutor and concentrates on a variety of techniques and key principles of good drawing and composition. Her specialisms includewatercolour, coloured pencils and graphite whereby she enjoys experimenting with different mediums such as chrystalline watercolours and inks, Purnima is a proud brand Ambassador for St Cuthbert’s mill watercolour paper.

Her highly praised step -by -step demonstrations form a key learning tool for all participants, whereby live demonstrations allow a structured and timely approach to teaching.   Her gentle, but enthusiastic style encourages learners of all abilities to achieve their own personal artistic goals. Her passion for painting is reflected in her teachings. Purnima also travels around the world and teaches onboard Cunard Cruise ship.
